Before using for the fi rst time
Remove any packaging materials and check
that all components are present.
Before the appliance is used for the fi rst
time, or after extended periods of non-use, it
should be thoroughly cleaned as described
in the section Cleaning and care.
Operation
We recommend the use of long-life milk
(UHT) with a high protein content. For best
results, the milk should be taken from the
refrigerator immediately before frothing.
The underside of the container and the contact
area on the inside of the base must be clean
and dry.
Choosing the stirring head
∙ Use the smooth stirring head to heat up
milk.
∙ For frothing and heating milk at the same
time, use the serrated head.
∙ For cold-frothing milk, also use the
serrated head.
∙ The head not currently in use can be
stored in the rear of the housing.
Fill amounts
∙ Always observe the minimum mark and
ensure the container is fi lled with at least
120 ml milk.
∙ For frothing, fi ll the container to a
maximum of 350 ml (lower max mark
∙ For heating, fi ll the container to a
maximum of 700 ml (upper max mark
Heating up or frothing milk
∙ Place the container onto the base.
∙ Remove the lid from the milk container.
∙ Place the appropriate head onto the
mounting protrusion inside the bottom of
the container.
∙ Put the required amount of milk into the
container.
∙ Place the lid on the container.
∙ Use the temperature control to set the
desired temperature or to select the cold-
frothing function (COLD).
∙ Insert the plug into a suitable wall socket.
A beep signal is heard and the main
indicator lamp starts fl ashing.
∙ Press the On/Off switch.
∙ A double beep is heard, the indicator lamp
remains on and the motor cooling system
starts up.
∙ The stirring process begins. Once the
milk is suffi ciently hot or the cold-frothing
process is complete, both heating and
stirring processes stop automatically.
∙ The main indicator lamp fl ashes, and a
number of beep signals are heard.
∙ You can now remove the milk container
from the base. Use a suitable spoon to
take off the milk froth.
∙ The cooling system continues to run for
a brief period. The main indicator lamp
stops fl ashing after about three minutes.
∙ The power cord can now be disconnected
from the socket.
Remarks
If the appliance has not been disconnected
from the mains , the On/Off switch must be
