The picture is too bright.
The flash was set to the Fill-In Flash mode.
- Set the flash to a mode other than Fill-In Flash. (P. 22)
The subject was very bright.
- Either meter or point the camera away from overly bright
subjects.
A dark subject was at the centre of the image.
- Use the spot metering mode, and meter the exposure on a
brighter subject.
The picture is too dark.

- Pop up the flash and use it.

- Either meter or point the camera away from dark subjects.
A bright subject was at the centre of the image.
- Use the spot metering mode, and meter the exposure on a
darker subject.
The color of pictures taken indoors looks unnatural.
The lighting fixture(s) affected the picture.
- Set the flash mode to Fill-In. (P. 22)
The subject had no white part.
- Put something white within the image or select a color
temperature under the white balance.
The Manual White Balance setting is wrong.
- Select the right white balance. (P. 50)
The picture has obscured edge(s).
The lens was partly blocked by a finger or the strap.
- Hold the camera correctly, keeping your fingers and the
strap away from the lens. (P. 13)
