Erasing Images

Images you do not need can be easily erased. You have the choice of erasing just one image at a time or clearing the entire
card.

One-Frame Erase
The following procedure erases only the image displayed on the LCD
monitor.

Set the mode dial to

Press the [SM/CF] button and select the card which contains the
image you want to erase.
The images on the selected card will appear on the LCD monitor.

Press the jog dial to display images to erase.
Displays the previous image.

Displays the next image.
Forwards by ten frames.
Backwards by ten frames.

A message confirming whether or not to erase the image will appear
on the LCD display.

Press the right / left point of the jog dial and Select "YES".
If you want to stop erasing, select "NO", and then press the [OK] but-
ton or the [

Press the [OK] button.
The access lamp will blink and the displayed image will be erased.
MEMO
• Write-protected images cannot be erased.
• Even if the images are protected,formatting the memory card erases
the images.
• If a write-protect adhesive seal is attached on the SmartMedia mem-
ory card, it is not possible to format the card.
• When sound files or thumbnail files accompany (main) image files to
be erased on a card, and any of the sound and thumbnail files are
write-protected, erasing (main) image files will not erase those write-
protected files.
• Single-frame erasure can erase DCF (Design for Camera File sys-
tem) pictures as well as pictures based on other systems.
Now, this is the end of the basic course for photograpy. If you want to

stop using the camera at the point, press the ON/OFF button
OFF. (See the illustration.)
NOTE
• Do not open the card compartment cover, remove batteries or dis-
connect the AC adapter while the card access lamp is blinking when
the camera is active.
• When you turn the power off while the camera is in operation, not
only will set modes or the clock be reset, and the process of storing
the images be cancelled, but the data may be destroyed.
• Images stored on the card are retained in memory after power is
shut OFF and while batteries are changed.
