No Disc.
This is a non-recordable disc.

Causes and solutions
≥You haven't inserted a disc. Correctly insert a disc that this unit can play. (page 13)
≥The disc is upside down. If it is a single-sided disc, insert it so the label is facing up.

≥The unit cannot record on the disc you inserted. The unit cannot record onto finalized
DVD-R, DVD-Video, CDs or Video CDs.
Insert a DVD-RAM or unfinalized DVD-R. (page 8)
≥You inserted an unformatted DVD-RAM.
Format the disc with this unit. (page 31)
≥You inserted an incompatible disc. (page 13)
≥The write protect tab on the cartridge is set to
"PROTECT".
Use a ballpoint pen or similar to release the
write protection.
≥The programme is write-protected.
Release the protection with the direct navigator. (page 35)
≥The disc is write-protected.
Release the protection with the disc protection sub menu of DISC INFORMATION.

≥The programme was copy-protected.
≥TV system of the programme was different from the setting in SETUP, so the timer
recorded was not completed.
≥The disc is full.
≥Recording was not completed for some other reason.
≥The disc is scratched. Use another disc.

≥TV system of the programme or the input signal was different from the setting in SETUP.
≥No space left on the disc.
Create space by erasing any unwanted programmes. (page 34)

≥The clock is not set correctly. Reset the clock using "Clock Settings". (page 56)
≥You tried to play a disc with a region number different from this unit's region number.
This unit can play only play discs with the region numbers compatible with this unit.

≥A ratings level has been set for DVD-Video with this unit. Temporarily unlock the unit
with "Ratings" in the disc menu. (page 54)
≥You can operate the unit using the [ENTER] (10) only.
≥After you press the [ENTER] (10), turn off the unit and then turn it on. Recovery starts.
