Inspect the bearing inserts for damage

Clean all oil from the bearing inserts
and
journals.
Put a piece of
plast
igauge o
n
each
journal,
avoiding
the oil holes.
Install the main bearings on the correct journals
on
the lower cran
k
case
and tighten them evenly
in
2-3 steps
in
the sequence shown.
