Roll the rear wheel as far for-
ward as possible and loop the
chain over sprocket 5.

Lift the rear wheel (or rest it
on a wooden block of suitable
thickness) and work quick-
release axle 4 through the
swinging arm, the brake cal-
iper and the rear wheel.
Install axle nut 2, but do not
tighten it at this point.
Insert the wheel-speed sensor
into the holder and install
screw 1 (with washer, if
applicable).
Adjust the chain sag (
Remove the auxiliary stand.

Installing the front-wheel

The BMW Motorrad front
wheel stand is not designed
to support the motorcycle
without the assistance of an
auxiliary stand. A motorcycle
resting only on the front wheel
stand and the rear wheel can
topple.
Place the motorcycle on an aux-
iliary stand before lifting the front
wheel with the BMW Motorrad
front-wheel stand.
Place the motorcycle on a suit-
able auxiliary stand.

74).
