Barrel Type Power Jacks
Most guitar effect pedals use a center negative barrel jack for power. This is considered
"normal" or "standard" polarity. Barrel jacks wired for center positive are referred to as
"reversed'" polarity. The V-10 Power Block can be used to power normal or reversed
polarity effect pedals, as long as the correct DC power cable is used.
To determine whether your pedal operates using a normal or reversed polarity barrel
type power plug, take a look at the power adapter which the manufacturer recommends
using with the pedal. They will typically indicate polarity using one of the below
illustrations.
