Troubleshooting

(Preparatory operations
Possible cause
The camera does not turn on or function buttons do not respond.
The power is off.
The batteries are loaded
incorrectly.
The battery power is
exhausted.
The cold is temporarily
affecting battery
performance.
The camera is in the
sleep mode.
The camera is connected
to a computer.
(Shooting
Possible cause
No picture is taken when the shutter button is pressed.
The battery power is
exhausted.
The camera is in the
playback mode.
The flash has not
finished charging.
The power is off.
The card is full.
The battery power was
exhausted during
shooting or while the
images were being written
to the card. (The Monitor
turns off.)
The memory gauge is full. Wait until there is space in the memory gauge.
There is a problem with
the card.
Corrective action
Turn the camera on.
Reload the batteries correctly.
Replace the batteries with new ones, or
charge the batteries.
Warm the batteries by putting them in your
pocket for a while.
Operate the camera with the shutter button or
zoom lever.
The camera will not operate while it is
connected to a computer.
Corrective action
Replace the batteries with new ones, or
charge the batteries.
Slide the POWER switch to K to switch to
the shooting mode.
Remove your finger from the shutter button, and
wait until the orange lamp and the # (flash
charge) indication stop blinking before taking
the picture.
Turn the camera on.
Erase unwanted pictures or insert a new
card. Before erasing, download important
images to a computer.
Replace the batteries with new ones, or
charge the batteries.
