Installing The Rear Brake Caliper - Yamaha 2009 YFM25RY Service Manual

1. Install:
• O-ring "1" New
• Caliper piston seal "2"
• Caliper dust seal "3"
2. Install:
• Brake caliper piston "1"
3. Install:
• Parking brake arm "1"
4. Measure:
• Parking brake arm to parking brake
bracket distance "a"
Out of specification → Adjust.

INSTALLING THE REAR BRAKE CALIPER

1. Install:
• Brake caliper "1"
(temporarily)
• Copper washers "2"
• Brake hose "3"
• Union bolt "4"

31 Nm (3.1 m·kg, 23 ft·lb)

WARNING
Proper brake hose routing is essential to
insure safe vehicle operation. Refer to
"CABLE ROUTING" on page 2-29.

When installing the brake hose onto the
brake caliper "1", make sure the brake pipe
touches the projection "a" on the brake cal-
iper.
2. Remove:
• Brake caliper
3. Install:
• Brake pads
• Brake pad spring
• Lock washer
• Brake pad retaining bolts
• Brake caliper
• Brake caliper bolts
Refer to "REPLACING THE REAR
BRAKE PADS" on page 4-32.
Brake pad retaining bolt
17 Nm (1.7 m·kg, 13 ft·lb)
Brake caliper bolt
34 Nm (3.4 m·kg, 25 ft·lb)
4. Fill:
• Brake fluid reservoir
(with the specified amount of the recom-
mended brake fluid)
