BEARING FLANGE REPLACEMENT
(TRACK MODELS)
Remove Bearing Flange From Right Side
of Frame
NOTICE: Save all hardware for reinstallation.
WARNING: AVOID INJURY. Before placing unit
in service position, close fuel valve and drain
fuel from tank and fuel system. See Draining
Fuel System on page 8. Make sure unit is
secure and will not tip.
1.
Stop engine, remove key and wait for all moving parts
to stop and for hot parts to cool.
2.
Disconnect spark plug wire from engine.
3.
Place unit in service position. See Service Position on
page 8.
4.
Remove track drive wheels. See Remove Track Drive
Wheel on page 29.
5.
Remove tracks. See Remove Track on page 30.

6.
Remove keys and flat steel washers from drive axle.

NOTICE: Position carriage assembly in the "Raised
Position" to remove bottom cover. Refer to Operator's
Manual. See Figure 5.
7.
Remove hardware securing bottom cover to unit and
remove bottom cover.

Loosen, but DO NOT remove hardware securing
mount plates to side plates on track carriage.

3. Center Locking Flange Nut
See Figure 57.
9.
Move axle left until halfway through frame.
10. Remove sleeve bushing, spur gear, Woodruff key and
roll pin from axle and remove axle from unit.
11. Remove sleeve bushing seated between bearing
flanges on frame and side plate.
