4 Press the " " button to confi rm that you have placed a container
under the water dispensing spout.
5 A bar showing the fi lter activation progress status is displayed on the
fi lter activation screen.
6 When the operations described above have been completed, the
machine shows this display. The 100% AquaClean icon appears on the
machine-ready screen to indicate that the fi lter has been activated.
Caution:
If the fi lter used is the last one of the 8-fi lter series, the machine will
ask for descaling before activating a new fi lter. Refer to the chapter
relating to machine descaling.

When the fi lter icon on the display starts fl ashing, press the "
to access the machine main menu.
Press the " " button and the " " button to select MACHINE MENU.
Press the " " button to select AQUACLEAN FILTER.

The display indicates that you need to descale the machine before
activating a new fi lter. Press the " " button to start the descaling pro-
cedure.
Note:
If you do not wish to start the descaling procedure right now, press the "
button to exit the fi lter menu.

When the descaling procedure has been completed, the display asks
you if you wish to install the AquaClean fi lter. Follow the steps de-
scribed under "Replacing the AquaClean Filter".
Replace the fi lter as described in the previous section.
