INSPECTION AND REPAIR

KICK STARTER

1. Inspect :
• Kick gear teeth Q
• Kick pinion gear teeth W
Burrs/Chips/Roughness/Wear © Replace.

2. Inspect :
• Mating dogs (kick pinion gear and one-way
clutch)
Rounded edges/Damage © Replace.

3. Measure :
• Clip tension (kick pinion gear) Q
Out of specification © Replace.
Use a spring balance W.

TRANSMISSION

1. Inspect :
• Drive axle Q
• Main axle W
• Secondary sheave axle E
Burrs/Chips/Roughness/Wear © Replace.

2. Inspect :
• Secondary sheave axle bearing Q
• Main axle bearing W
• Drive axle bearing E
Spin the bearing inner race.
Excessive play/Roughness © Replace.
Pitting/Damage © Replace.
