1 Top panel: With the removal of eight screws, the panel can be removed to allow installation of expansion cards.
2 Card slot panels: Removable panels, houses up to eight expansion cards.
3 CC-16 connector: Allows Bose CC-16 zone controller connections (See "CC-16 Connector" on page 17).
4 GPIO slot 1: Pre-loaded GPIO card which provides eight general purpose control inputs and eight general-purpose control
outputs (See "7. Connect GPIO Devices" on page 18).
5 GPIO slot 2: For optional 2nd GPIO card.
6 Chassis serial number: Location for unit serial number.
7 POWER switch: AC power switch.
8 AC mains receptacle: Power cord connection (IEC 60320-C-14 Inlet).
9 Ethernet connector: RJ-45 jack for network connectivity (See "8. Network Connection" on page 19).
10 RS-232: 5-wire, RS-232-C (DTE) serial data interface connection (See "RS-232 Connector" on page 17).

Hardware Installation

Use the following procedure when setting up a ControlSpace
1. Download and install the latest version of ControlSpace
2. Unpack the ESP processor
3. Install expansion cards
4. Rack-mount the ESP processor
5. Make audio I/O connections
6. Make CC-16 and RS-232 connections
7. Connect GPIO devices
8. Establish a network connection
9. Connect the power cable, turn on unit
10. Configure the ESP processor using ControlSpace Designer software
1. Download and install the latest version of ControlSpace
Install ControlSpace Designer software prior to working with the ControlSpace ESP processor. Visit pro.Bose.com to download the
latest software version which includes product firmware, the latest algorithms and a detailed help system that guides system designers
and installers through configuring the ESP processor for use in high-quality audio systems.
