Replacing The Headrest Pillow - Invacare Tracer SX5 Owner's Operator And Maintenance Manual

1. Unfold wheelchair. Refer to Unfolding and Folding Wheelchair on page 20.
2. Attach spreader bar. Refer to Removing/Installing the Spreader Bar on page 51.
3. Make sure wheelchair is occupied and on a level surface before reclining.
4. Engage the wheel locks.
5. Inform the occupant of the wheelchair that the wheelchair is about to be reclined.
6. Make sure occupant's hands and body are clear of all pinch points.
7. Stand behind the wheelchair and grasp both push handles firmly.
8. Lifting up on handles, squeeze release levers.
9. Slowly, pull back on the back assembly while squeezing the release levers.
10. When the back reaches the desired angle, slowly let go of the release levers.
11. To return the back to the full upright position, reverse the STEPS 7-10 keeping in mind
proper body mechanics.

Replacing the Headrest Pillow

NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 11.2 on page 50.
1. Unfasten straps of headrest pillow from behind headrest upholstery.
2. Remove existing headrest pillow from headrest.
3. Center new/existing headrest pillow onto the front of the headrest upholstery.
4. Pull straps of new/existing headrest pillow around the back canes.
5. Pressing firmly, attach the fastening strips of the new/existing headrest pillow to the
fastening strips on the back of the headrest upholstery.
