Each ID has a ID shutter for each of the
toner colours.
These shutters are used together with the
toner cartridge shutters to detect whether
toner cartridges have been mounted
correctly. The check is completed by the
toner sensor in the printer chassis.
Following conditions may cause a toner
sensor error.
toner sensor is dirty (from a toner
spill)
prismatic light guide is dirty (from
toner spill)
ID unit is not correctly seated
ID unit and the toner sensor are not
aligned
locking
