    Getting Started Before you begin About caller identification (CID) The Caller ID with Call Waiting features in this telephone let you see who’s calling before you answer the phone, even when you’re on another call. These fea- tures require services provided by your local telephone company.

    Getting Started Telephone base installation Install the telephone base as shown below. Choose a central location within the home, away from any electronic equipment and appliances such as person- al computers, computer routers, television sets, microwave ovens, and refrig- erators. Avoid excessive heat, cold, dust or moisture. Plug power adapter into an electrical outlet not con- trolled by a wall switch.

    Getting Started Battery installation & charging After installation, place the handset in the telephone base and allow the bat- tery to charge for sixteen hours before use. You can keep battery charged by returning the handset to the telephone base after each use. When the battery power is fully depleted, a full recharge takes about sixteen hours.

    Getting Started Wall mounting The telephone base can be installed on any standard telephone outlet as shown below. Choose a central location within the home, away from any elec- tronic equipment such as personal computers, computer routers, television sets or microwave ovens.
