Troubleshooting
My cordless 
handset isn't 
performing 
normally.
CONNECTING...
displays on my 
cordless hand-
set.
The batteries 
will not hold a 
charge.
• Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into the base.
Plug the unit into a different, working electrical outlet not con-
trolled by a wall switch.
• Move the cordless handset closer to the base. You might have
moved out of range.
• Reset the base. Unplug the unit's electrical power. Wait for 
seconds then plug it back in. Allow up to one minute for the
cordless handset and base to reset.
• Other electronic products can cause interference to your cord-
less phone. Try installing your phone as far away from these
types of electronic devices as possible: wireless routers, radios,
radio towers, pager towers, cell phones, intercoms, room moni-
tors, televisions, personal computers, kitchen appliances and
other cordless phones.
• Ensure that the base is powered up.
• Place the cordless handset in base cradle for one minute to
allow the cordless handset and base to resynchronize channels.
• Move the cordless handset closer to the base. You might have
moved out of range.
• If the cordless handset is in its base and the charging light does
not come on, refer to The charge light is off in this trouble-
shooting guide.
• Reset the base. Unplug the unit's electrical power. Wait for 
seconds then plug it back in. Allow up to one minute for the
cordless handset and base to reset.
• Other electronic products can cause interference with your
cordless phone. Try installing your phone as far away from
these types of electronic devices as possible: wireless rout-
ers, radios, radio towers, pager towers, cell phones, intercoms,
room monitors, televisions, personal computers, kitchen appli-
ances and cordless phones.
• Charge the battery in the cordless handset for at least  hours.
For optimum daily performance, return the cordless handset to
its base when not in use.
• You may need to purchase a new battery, please refer to the
battery section of this user's manual.
• Your phone might be malfunctioning. Please refer to the war-
ranty section of this user's manual for further instruction.
• If the cordless handset is in its base and the charging light does
not come on, refer to The charge light is off in this trouble-
shooting guide.
