Settings for the Messages

The steps below are instructions on Text message and
Picture message settings. For information on the E-mail
settings, refer to "Setting an Account" on page 15-144.

Press B.
The main menu appears.

Press a, b, c or d to highlight "Messages"
and press B.
The "Messages" menu appears.

Press a or b to highlight "Text message" or
"Picture message" and press B.
Each messaging menu appears.

Press a or b to highlight "Settings" and press
B.
Text message settings
After step 4 of "Setting for the Messages," set the
following items.
When you finish making settings, press
Message center:
Enter the message center number to enable the service.
Message lifetime:
Set the time span that the message service center
continually tries to send the message to the recipient you
specified.

Message format:
Select a message format from the 7 choices.
Connection type:
Select a connection type.
Reply path:
Confirm delivery:
Optimization:
Converts double-byte characters (such as European
characters with an accent) into single-byte characters
before sending the messages. Please note that you may
be charged double for sending double-byte character
messages.
Picture message settings
After step 4 of "Setting for the Messages," set the
following items.
When you finish making settings, press
Roaming download:
Defers Picture message download when roaming outside
of your network.
Allow delivery report:
A

Enables "Delivery report" when receiving a message that
applies to the "Delivery report" function.
Anonymous reject:
Rejects messages from unknown or empty address.
