Common Functions &
Information
This section describes useful common functions you can
use for both camera and video.
Using the Digital Zoom Function

At the main menu, select in the following order:
"Camera" → "Create picture" or "Create video."

Press c to zoom out (the subject becomes
smaller) or press d to zoom in (the subject
becomes larger.)
The zooming ratio indicators appear automatically

is pressed and disappear when the
key is released.
The available zooming steps depend on the camera
settings.
In "Create picture" mode:
When the picture size is set to "Small": steps 1 to
10
When the picture size is set to "Medium": steps 1
to 5
In "Create video" mode: steps 1 to 10
The digital zoom function is not available when
picture size is set to "Megapixel" or "Large" in
"Create picture" mode.

Taking Close-up Pictures
When the distance to the subject is approximately
2 inches (5 cm), set the macro switch to the macro
S
position (
). When the distance to the subject is
approximately 16 inches (41 cm) or more, set the macro
switch to the normal position (

Press B or the side-down key (W) to take a
picture or to record video.
To cancel macro mode
Set the macro switch to the normal position (
Using the Delay Timer

At the main menu, select in the following order:
"Camera" → "Create picture" or "Create video."

Press C [Options].
The "Options" menu appears.

Press a or b to highlight "Delay timer" and
press B.

Press a or b to highlight "On" and press B.

" appears and returns to "Create picture/video"
mode.
