To see what apps have been using mobile data and set restrictions:
1. Touch
> > S ettings > D ata usage.
2. Drag the white vertical bars in the data usage diagram to select a time period.
A list of apps that used mobile data during the time period appears under the diagram. You
l
can also see how much data each app used.
3. Touch an app in the list to view the amount of data used in the foreground and background by the
app.
Tick the Restrict background data check box to disable background data for the app on
l
mobile data networks.
Note: To disable background data for all apps when you are on mobile data networks, touch
> > S ettings > D ata usage, touch
confirm.
Note: You can also check Wi-Fi usage. Touch
and check Show Wi-Fi usage.
To restrict data usage for the mobile hotspot you connect to:
1. Touch
> > S ettings > D ata usage.
2. Touch
> M obile hotspots.
3. Check the Wi-Fi networks which are mobile hotspots in the networks list. When a hotspot is
selected, the apps on your phone can be restricted from using these networks when in the
background. The apps may also warn before using these networks for large downloads.
Note: To select mobile hotspots, you need to turn Wi-Fi on.
To turn auto-sync data on or off:
1. Touch
> > S ettings > D ata usage.
2. Touch
and check or uncheck Auto-sync data to enable or disable this feature. Touch OK
to confirm.
When auto-sync data is turned on, any changes you make to your accounts on the Web will be
automatically copied to your phone. Some accounts may also automatically copy any changes you
make on the phone to the Web. A Google Account works this way.
To choose which kinds of information to sync within each account, touch
select the accounts in the ACCOUNTS section.
When auto-sync data is turned off, you can conserve data and battery usage, but you'll need to sync
each account manually to collect recent information.
