Air Cleaner Element Removal
1. Remove the cleaner cap.
2. Take out the element.
Washing the Element
Wash the element as follows:
1. Fill a wash pan larger than the
element with a non-flammable
cleaning solvent A. Dip the
element in the solvent and
wash it.
2. Squeeze
pressing it between the palms
of both hands to remove the
excess solvent. Do not twist or
wring the element or it will
develop cracks.
3. Dry the element.
4. Fill a wash pan larger than the
element with motor oil B. Dip
the element in the oil.
5. Squeeze
remove excess oil.
CAUTION
A torn air cleaner element will
allow dirt to enter the engine
and can damage the engine.
Carefully
cleaner element for tears dur-
ing cleaning. Replace it with a
new one if it is torn.
