Changing direction
1. Stop the drill.
2. Turn the selector (4) to the right or left
to select the direction of rotation.
N.B. The drill will not work if the selector is
between settings. The control knob must
be turned to the end position for
the desired rotational direction.
Variable speed control
1. Start the drill by pulling
the power trigger (1).
2. Turn the speed control (7) on
the handle anticlockwise to
reduce speed or clockwise to
increase speed.
3. The speed selector limits how far
the power trigger can be pulled in.
N.B. Always start drilling at a low speed if drilling without a pilot hole or
centre-punch mark. As a rule, use higher speeds with thin drill bits and lower
speeds with thicker bits. Cleaning and polishing usually require a high speed.
High and low gear
1. Stop the drill completely.
2. Turn the upper selector knob (8) to
the desired gear ratio. Select 1 for
the lowest gear (0–1200 rpm) or 2 for
the highest gear (0–3000 rpm).
N.B. Always use the lowest gear when
the machine is under the greatest load,
it provides higher torque and better cooling.
Warning: Do not move the gear selector unless the chuck is completely stationary.
Make sure that the control knob is in the correct position by turning completely to
the end.
