Chapter 2
Board Installation
2) When you are attempting to create a set of installation disks using the
WINNT /ox or WINNT32 /ox command, the following error message may be
displayed:
This floppy disk is not formatted as high-density, not formatted
with a standard Windows NT or MS-DOS format, or is corrupted.
Setup is unable to use this disk.
CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM: You are using a LS/120-type floppy disk drive.
RESOLUTION - To work around this issue, install Windows NT Worksta
tion with the /b switch. This causes Windows NT Workstation Setup to run
without requiring the installation disks.
If you are using the S1837D or are installing with Adaptec 3940 with AIC-
7896 chip then you must install NT 4.0 with a standard 1.44MB floppy disk.
Q: Where can I get Intel PRO/100+ Management Adapter drivers?
A: You will find the drivers located in the Tyan Drivers CD under the
subdirectory 'LAN82559'. Please note: You must use the drivers provided
in the Tyan CD only. These drivers have been tested and approved by
Tyan engineering.
Q: Why does my Intel Ethernet work only intermittantly?
A: The Inter Ethernet only operates under standby current; therefore, your
power supply must be ATX 2.01 Compliant with a minimum SB5V current of
750mA.
Q: Why does my keyboard LED remain on after the system is turned off?
A: This situation is most likely caused by the enabling of two functions within
the BIOS setup. If the LAN Wake-Up for Onboard LAN (under the Power
Management Setup) and the Key-board Wake-Up Function (under the
Peripheral Setup) are enabled, the motherboard would provide a standby
voltage to the keyboard. This would subsequently cause the LED to remain
on. You can thus start up your system by hitting the Ctrl key and the F1
key at the same time. In order to turn off the LED, you should disable the
Keyboard Wake-up Function in the Peripheral Setup of the BIOS. By
default both the LAN Wake-Up and Keyboard Wake-Up functions are
disabled.
