TROUBLESHOOTING

Power
No power.
Shooting
An image is not
captured when the
shutter release
button is pressed.
The flash does not
light.

Problem
The batteries are dead.
The batteries have not
been inserted correctly.
The battery
compartment cover is
not fully closed.
Due to cold
temperatures, the
batteries temporarily lost
their power.
The power is not turned
on.
The stand-by indicator is
flashing red (the digital
camera is becoming
ready to capture an
image).
The memory is full (the
stand-by indicator lights
in red, the displayed
remaining number of
images that can be
captured becomes "0"
on the LCD monitor).
The flash off mode is
selected.
The digital camera has
determined that the
image is bright enough
and the flash is not
necessary.
The batteries are dead.
Cause
Change or recharge the
batteries.
Reinsert the batteries,
making sure the polarity
(+), (–) is as indicated.
Close battery
compartment cover
properly.
Place the digital camera
in your pocket to warm it
up before using it.
If the power save function
has turned the digital
camera off, then press
the MODE button, or
press once on the shutter
release button to turn the
digital camera back on.
Wait until the stand-by
indicator lights in green to
capture the image.
Install a new card.
Erase the images that are
not necessary. Save the
images to separate
media, then erase all the
images from the card.
Set the flash to automatic
flash mode or forced flash
mode.
Not a malfunction.
Capture the image, the
digital camera will
determine when the flash
is necessary.
Change or recharge the
batteries.
