  • Page 3 Disconnect any plugs from the trim panel and then remove panel. (Figure B) Remove (4) Phillips screw from radio (Figure C) to remove radio. Cut along the scored lines of the radio housing’s mounting tabs. (Figure D) 99-1008...
  • Page 4 99-1008 2004.5- 2006 KIA SPECTRA Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Using a flat blade screwdriver as a pry tool, unsnap and remove the center dash panel including the cli- mate controls and vents from around the radio.

    99-1008 DIN HEAD UNIT PROVISION Slide the DIN cage into the Radio Housing and secure by bending the (Figure A) metal locking tabs down. Slide the aftermarket head unit into the cage and secure. Snap the Trim plate into the Radio Housing.
  • Page 6 99-1008 Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter and making the connections as shown. (Isolate and individually tape off the ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit) Re-connect the negative battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation.
