NOTE
o.*o Youcantypicallyleave theTVin Stereo modebecause it outputs
thetypeofsoundbeingbroadcast (stereo or monaural).
o:o Ifthesoundisnoisy,selectMonoto reduce thenoise.
To listen to an alternate language on an ATSC digital station (if
available), highlight the Primary Audio Language field in step 2
above, and then press the </•
(arrow) buttons to select the
language you prefer.
To listen to a second audio program on an analog station, if
available, select SAP in step 2 above.
NOTE
o**o A second audioprogram (SAP) canbeheard onlyonthose TV
stations thatofferit. Forexample, a stationmightbroadcast
another l anguage asasecond audioprogram. I f youhave SAP
on,youwill seethecurrent p rogram on thescreen buthearthe
otherlanguage instead oftheprogram's n ormal a udio.
o:° IfyouhaveSAPonandthestation youarewatching is not
broadcasting a second audioprogram, t hestation's normal a udio
will beoutput.However, occasionally t hereis nosoundatall in
SAP mode.Ifthis happens, settheMTSfeature to Stereo mode.
Adjusting theaudio quality
You can adjust the audio quality by adjusting the bass, treble and
balance.
To adjust the audio quality:

Press the MENU button and open the Sound menu.

Press the • / • (arrow) buttons to highlight the item you wish to
adjust (Bass, Treble, or Balance), and then press the ENTER
button.

Press the • 1_ (arrow) buttons to adjust the level.
°_o • makes the bass or treble weaker or increases the balance
in the left channel (depending on the item selected).
o_o • makes the bass or treble stronger or increases the
balance in the right channel (depending on the item
selected).
