17.3 Encryption (NXDN Digital)
Key Variable Loader
The encryption key data can be configured on an SCM by using the Motorola KVL-3000/ KVL-3000Plus/ KVL-4000.
"KEYLOAD" appears on the main display and the transceiver enters KVL mode, after connecting KVL-3000/
KVL-3000Plus/ KVL-4000 to the transceiver with the connection cable and turning ON the transceiver
Or, "KEYLOAD" appears on the main display and the transceiver enters KVL mode, after connecting KVL-3000/
KVL-3000Plus/ KVL-4000 to the transceiver with the connection cable and turning ON the transceiver by pressing and
holding the Down key (NX-200/ NX-210/ NX-300/ NX-410/ NX-411) or the [ ] key (Mobile). The operations available
using KVL-3000/ KVL-3000Plus/ KVL-4000 are as follows:
 Key Loading
The encryption key data can be configured on an SCM.
 Key Erasure
The encryption key data configured on an SCM can be deleted.
 Key View
A Key ID configured in the transceiver can be displayed.

Software Key Loader
Using the Software Key Loader (KPG-151AE), the encryption key data can be configured on an SCM (KWD-AE21/
KWD-DE21).
Connect a PC with KPG-151AE installed to the transceiver using the KPG-36/ KPG-36A/ KPG-36U programming cable
(for NX-200/ NX-210/ NX-300/ NX-410/ NX-411) or the KPG-46/ KPG-46A/ KPG-46U programming cable (for Mobile) and
turn the transceiver ON. Following are the operations available using KPG-151AE.
 Key Write
The encryption key data can be configured on an SCM.
 Key Delete
The encryption key data configured on an SCM can be deleted.
Zeroize
Zeroize is the function that deletes all encryption key data configured on an SCM.
All encryption key data configured on an SCM are automatically deleted if the SCM security function is activated when the
transceiver is turned ON or while the transceiver is in use.
"KEY ERASED" appears on the main display for 2 sec after the encryption key data is deleted.
NX-200/ NX-210/ NX-300/ NX-410/ NX-411
All encryption key data configured on an SCM are also deleted in the following cases.
