The Nokia 9300 is a sophisticated smartphone designed to enhance your work style while complementing your personal
style. Along with your Nokia 9300, you received a CD-ROM and a DKU-2 data cable. Let's explore how these pieces can
help you get the most out of your Nokia 9300.
In-Box CD-ROM
This CD contains Nokia PC Suite* and the User Guide
in PDF format (fig. 2.1).

Nokia PC Suite requires Windows 2000 or Windows XP
operating systems.
Nokia PC Suite
Nokia PC Suite is a powerful software tool that enables connectivity
between your computer and your Nokia 9300.
Nokia PC Suite will enable you to:
• Synchronize contacts, calendar, and to-do lists with Microsoft
Outlook and Lotus Notes (Microsoft Outlook 1998, 2000, 2002,
and 2003, Lotus Notes and Lotus Organizer 5.x and 6.x).
• Transfer files between devices and back up information
stored on your Nokia 9300.
• Install applications on your phone.
You can find more information about Nokia PC Suite on the enclosed
CD-ROM. Nokia PC Suite will allow you to synchronize and transfer
files via USB, Bluetooth, and Infrared connections.
TIP! If you are upgrading from a compatible Nokia phone, you can use the Data Transfer application to migrate your existing
phone data to the Nokia 9300. Data Mover will transfer data from the Nokia 9200 Communicator series to the Nokia 9300. For

SIM Card
Your Nokia 9300 uses a SIM card that provides access to your wireless
service. A SIM card allows you to transfer your service to a compatible
mobile phone and maintain access to the information stored on your
SIM card, such as your contact information.
MultiMediaCard (MMC)
This memory card provides extra storage space for music, data, and
applications. It also provides an easy way to back up important files.
Please note: The memory card can only be accessed when the
battery cover is properly fastened.
Installing the SIM card, memory card, and battery
1. With the back of the Nokia 9300 facing you,
press the cover release button (fig. 3.1a).
2. Slide the battery cover off in the direction shown (fig. 3.1b).
3. Remove the battery if necessary.
4. With the cover off, insert the SIM card with the metal contacts facing
down and the beveled edge pointing towards the MMC slot (fig. 3.2).
5. Insert the memory card with the metal contacts facing down and the
beveled edge pointing towards the SIM card (fig. 3.3).
6. Insert the battery by aligning the contacts of the battery with the
corresponding connectors on the battery compartment (fig. 3.4).
7. Replace the battery cover.

The "My own" key is a customizable short cut key.

Character key:
Use to access secondary functions of specific keys. Hold the Chr key while pressing
another key to activate the secondary function. (Secondary functions are printed in blue on the keypad.)

Joystick
- Push the joystick
up, or down to scroll through different lists.

DKU-2 Data Cable
This cable (fig. 2.2) connects your Nokia 9300 to your PC's USB port.
Caution! Do not connect this cable until you have installed
Nokia PC Suite, including the DKU-2 data cable driver from the
CD-ROM.
Once you have installed Nokia PC Suite and the DKU-2 data cable
driver, follow these steps:
• Reboot your PC
• Connect the DKU-2 data cable to your Nokia 9300
• Connect the cable to your PC
