2.6.7 MC300 with enclosure, connections

Fig. 2.6.7.1 shows the recommended power supply and earth connections for MC300 control
unit with enclosure. The same cable with a sufficient number of twisted pairs can be used for
other signals such as communications signals. Use a separate earth wire with sufficient copper
diameter (2,5mm
If you use the same cable for connecting emergency signals, do not distribute emergency loop
wiring to areas with electromagnetic disturbances without taking precautions to keep them from
entering the MC300 cable.

2.6.8 Signal cables

To conduct signals such as communications or transducer signals use shielded cables with
preferably twisted pair wires when applicable. The shields of the wiring must be connected to
earth potential with minimum interference (generally TE or earth star point). Signals using the
shield for protecting themselves from outside interference must be connected to earth at the
control cabinet. The other end of the shield must be left unconnected to avoid loops. When
necessary, use ferrite rings on the cables to suppress common mode interference and keep it
away from the system earth.
