6. SETTINGS
Image brightness and sharpness may vary according to the distance between the camera and
the ST-CCTV-VBAC16. A potentiometer and set of DIP switches are assigned to each of the
ST-CCTV-VBAC16's channels. The potentiometer is used to adjust "brightness" while the DIP
switches adjust "sharpness". To help achieve the best image quality, first adjust the
ST-CCTV-VBAC16's potentiometer(s) for brightness then adjust the DIP switches a described
below to compensate for distance. A switch in the "1" position represents minimum
compensation while a switch in the "4" position represent maximum compensation. Using the
table below the 4 DIP switch settings for each channel can provide up to 16 compensation
values associated with various transmission distances.
Note the above distances are for Black and White cameras and serve only as references.
Distances for Color cameras will be shorter.
Note all adjustments for brightness and sharpness should be done with a video waveform
monitor or other video test equipment. However, if such equipment is not available a video
monitor can be used.
