character
sent
at
the
end
of
every
line
the Cat
fiansmits. You
can
select
carriage
return (CR),
carriage
return
and
line
feed
(CR/LF), or
None.
The
proper choice
d9
pends on the
computer
the
Cat
is
communicating
with,
Forexample,
if
the Cat
is
commu-
nicating
with
an
Apple
Macintosh,
None
should be
se-
lected.
Most
data services
require CR.
Baud
rate
This
means the
rate
at
which
the
Cat
will
send
characters
to the
serial
port. Ifyou
are
using
an
external
modem,
select
a
rate
that
it
can
use. Baud
rates
of
300
and
1200
will
almost always
work;
high-speed
modems can
use
2400,4800,
and even 9600
baud.
Be
sure
to
set
your
modem
or
computer communications switches
or
program
to
the
same
baud rate
you
select
for
the Cat.
Data
word
length,
Parity'
Stop
bits:
Each
of
these
must
be
set
to
the
correct value
for
the data
service
or
computer
communications
prcgram you
are
using.
