Frame the subject, focus, and shoot.
When the camera recognizes a face (front
view), that face will be framed by a yellow
double border (by default) (~ 103).
When shooting non-human subjects or
when no faces are recognized, AF area mode
will switch to Auto, and the camera will
automatically select the focus area (one of nine) containing the subject closest to the
camera.
Flexible Program
In mode
P,
different combinations of shutter speed and aperture
can be selected by rotating the rotary multi selector ("flexible
program"). While flexible program is in effect, an asterisk
C*)
appears next to the mode indicator (p) in the monitor.
• Rotate the rotary multi selector clockwise for large apertures
(small f-numbers) that blur background details or fast shutter
speeds that "freeze" motion.
• Rotate the rotary multi selector counterclockwise for small
~
apertures (large f-numbers) that increase depth offield or slow
~
shutter speeds that blur motion.
• To restore default shutter speed and aperture settings, rotate the
rotary multi selector until the asterisk
C*)
next to the mode
indicator is no longer displayed. Selecting another mode, or
turning off the camera, also restores default shutter speed and
aperture settings.
