PREPARATION
WARNING: Always use handle to lift pump. Never use power cord to lift pump. To avoid skin
burns, unplug and allow time for the pump to cool after periods of extended use.
Estimated Assembly Time: 5 minutes
Materials Required for Assembly (not included): Thread tape, 3/4 in. heavy duty garden hose (for
suction), 3/4 in. standard garden hose (for discharge)
Optional items: Foot valve to hold prime, double female garden hose connector (for
connecting to existing water line for pressure boosting)
Note: If a standard garden hose is used for the suction line, the hose could collapse from the pressure,
allowing the pump to run dry. This could cause permanent damage and void the warranty.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS – TRANSFERRING WATER
WARNING: Secure the pump on a solid base before use.
CAUTION: Never install a shutoff valve in the suction or discharge of this pump. This will
cause excessive friction loss and will damage the pump and void the warranty.
CAUTION: All connections must be air tight. A single leak will prevent proper operation of
the pump and may cause the pump to run dry. If the pump runs dry, this will void the warranty.
1.
Installing the pump:
a. Threaded hose fittings (B) are furnished for
attaching garden hoses (sold separately).
Wrap threads of the hose fittings with thread
tape before threading into pump (C).
b. In no case should the pump be more than 15
ft. above or away from the inlet source.
c. The inlet line may be galvanized pipe, plastic
pipe, or reinforced hose. Small leaks in the
suction line greatly reduce the efficiency of the
pump and may prevent priming.
d. You can use a standard garden hose (sold
separately) as the discharge line
(1).
