To configure the settings and ping a host on the network:
1.
Select Maintenance > Troubleshooting > Ping IPv6.
2.
In the Ping field, select either Global or Link Local to select either the global IPv6 Address
or host name or link local address to ping.
if Link Local is selected, select the outgoing VLAN interface for ping.
3.
Configure the following settings:
In the IPv6 Address/Host Name field, enter the IPv6 address or host name of the
station you want the switch to ping. The initial value is blank. The IPv6 address or
host name you enter is not retained across a power cycle. The valid range is 0–160
characters.
In the Datagram Size field, enter the datagram size of the ping packets. The valid
range is 48–2048.
The Result field displays the result after the switch sends a ping IPv6 request to the
specified IPv6 address.
4.
Click Apply to send the ping.
The switch sends the number of pings specified in the Count field, and the results are
displayed in the Results field.
If a reply to the ping is received, you see "Send count=3, Receive count = n from
(IPv6 Address).Average round-trip time = n ms."
If a reply to the ping is not received, the following message is displayed (with sample
numbers): Send count = 3, Receive count = 0 from IP/HOST Average round trip time
= 680 ms.

Traceroute IPv4

Use the Traceroute utility to discover the paths that a packet takes to a remote destination.
To configure the Traceroute settings and send probe packets to discover the route to
a host on the network:
1.
Select Maintenance > Troubleshooting > Traceroute IPv4.
2.
In the IP Address/Hostname field, specify the IPv4 address or the host name of the station
you want the switch to ping.
The initial value is blank. This information is not retained across a power cycle.
3.
Configure the following settings:
Probes Per Hop. Specify the number of times each hop must be probed. The valid
range is 1–10. The default value is 3.
MaxTTL. Specify the maximum time-to-live for a packet in number of hops. The valid
range is 1–255. The default value is 30.
InitTTL. Specify the initial time-to-live for a packet in number of hops. The valid range
is 1–255. The default value is 1. The InitTTL you enter is not retained across a power
cycle.
