SECTION 1 INSTALLATION GUIDE
WELCOME TO ORB!
ORB offers you everything that you want in a removable disk drive - high capacity
and fast throughput speed at an affordable price that can be easily installed in your
computer.
1.1

INTRODUCTION

This installation guide provides detailed instructions, and illustrations, as well as
safety precautions that will help you to install your ORB disk drive. It is recom-
mended that you use this guide along with your computer and SCSI host bus
adapter card manual (if applicable), for you will need to refer to the manual during
the installation process.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Hardware:

Intel Pentium, AMD K6, Cyrix MMX with internal SCSI interface
Mac –
Power Macintosh/Power PC, G3 and G4 with internal SCSI interface
Operating Systems:

Windows 2000, 98, 95, 3.1x, NT 4.0 (SP4+), MS-DOS 5.0+
Mac –
Mac OS 7.6.1 or later
1.3 HARDWARE/TOOLS FOR INSTALLATION
The following tools may be required for the installation of the ORB Drive:
Flat head screwdriver
Phillips head screw driver
Needle nose pliers

CAUTION: Do not use magnetic tools.

PACKAGE CONTENTS

The ORB Kit consists of:
ORB 2.2GB Disk Drive, ORB Disk with Disk Case, Owner's
Manual/Quick Install Guide, ORB Installation Suite CD, Six Jumpers,
5 1 / -inch adapter, and a set of four flat-ended machine screws and four

pointed-end tapping screws.
