Front To Rear
T h e f r o n t o f t h e c u t t i n g d e c k i s s u p p o r t e d b y a
s t a b i l i z e r b a r t h a t
can be adjusted to level the deck from front to
rear' The front of
t h e d e c k s h o u l d b e b e t w e e n 7 + - i n c h a n d % - i n c h
l o w e r t h a n t h e
r e a r o f t h e d e c k . A d j u s t i f n e c e s s a r y a s f o l l o w s :
1 .
W i t h t h e t r a c t o r p a r k e d o n a f i r m , l e v e l s u r f a c e '
p l a c e t h e
deck lift lever in the top norch (highest position) and
rotate
t h e b l a d e n e a r e s t t h e d i s c h a r g e c h u t e s o t h a t i t i s
p a r a l l e l
w i t h t h e t r a c t o r .

M e a s u r e t h e d i s t a n c e f r o m t h e f r o n t o f t h e b l a d e t i p
t o
t h e g r o u n d a n d t h e r e a r o f t h e b l a d e t i p t o t h e
g r o u n d '
The first measurement taken should be between
1/+" and
3/s" less than the second measurement' Determine the
a p p r o x i m a t e d i s t a n c e n e c e s s a r y f o r p r o p e r a d j u s t m e n t
a n d
proceed, if necessary, to the next step'

L o c a t e t h e J a m n u t a n d l o c k n u t o n t h e f r o n t s i d e o f t h e

free of corrosive build-uP.

Always keep the rubber boot positioned over the positive
t e r m i n a l t o P r e v e n t s h o r t i n g .
IMPORTANT: lf removing the battery for any reason'
disconnect the NEGATIVE (Black) wire from it's terminal first'
f o l l o w e d b y t h e P O S I T I V E ( R e d ) w i r e ' W h e n r e - i n s t a l l i n g t h e
battery, always donnect the POSITIVE (Red) wire its terminal
first, followed by the NEGATIVE (Black) wire' Be certain that
the
w i r e s a r e c o n n e c t e d t o t h e c o r r e c t t e r m i n a l s ; r e v e r s i n g t h e m
c o u l d c h a n g e t h e p o l a r i t y a n d r e s u l t i n d a m a g e t o y o u r e n g i n e ' s
a l t e r n a t i n g s y s t e m .
Cleaning

C l e a n t h e b a t t e r y b y r e m o v i n g i t f r o m t h e t r a c t o r a n d
w a s h i n g
w i t h a b a k i n g s o d a a n d w a t e r s o l u t i o n ' l f n e c e s s a r y , s c r a p e
t h e
battery terminals with a wire brush to remove deposits'
Coat
t e r m i n a l s a n d e x p o s e d w i r i n g w i t h g r e a s e o r p e t r o l e u m
j e l l y t o
prevent corrosion.
