User Manual
Switching on and Connecting to Bluetooth
For first time installation you will need to flick the switch on the rear of the speaker unit to the
'ON' position, this will place it into 'STANDBY' mode, indicated by a red light on the front left
of the speaker
To power on the speaker, simply press the power button either on the remote control or on
control panel of the speaker unit itself. The display will read "HELLO".
The speaker will 'Beep' once to indicate it has been powered on and again when it is turned off.
Soundship has five play modes which can be accessed through a circular menu system by
pressing the 'MODE' button to the left of the display. The default mode is Bluetooth, the other
modes can be accessed in the order below:
BLUETOOTH – IPOD – FM – AUX – CLOCK – BLUETOOTH
During normal usage, the system will remember the mode status before it is turned off. When
the system is turned on again, the previous mode status will continue to operate. However,
each time the power is unplugged from the socket, the system will enter into the Bluetooth
mode once the system is turned on again.
When in Bluetooth mode, the speaker will automatically go into Bluetooth discovery mode,
this is indicated by two audible 'beeps' and the word 'PAIRING' on the speaker display.
To pair the speaker to your SmartPhone or other Bluetooth enabled audio device, ensure that
your device has Bluetooth switched on (you may need to go into your device settings to switch this on).
Next, using your phone settings, 'Scan for devices'. This will list all available Bluetooth
devices in the local area.
Choose Soundship from the menu and press 'Pair'
There should be no need to enter a passcode, Soundship will pair automatically.
However, if your device does ask for a code the default is 0000.
You phone will display 'Connected' once the speaker is paired and the speaker will
make a 'beep beep' sound to confirm the connection.
Once your speaker has been paired successfully it will automatically attempt to pair with the same
audio device each time you power on your speaker. To switch audio sources, either disable Bluetooth
on the paired device or use the device's settings to 'Forget device'.
