Insert a memory card

Data are stored in either the camera's internal memory
(approximately 44 MB) or a memory card.
• If you want to record the data onto the camera's internal
memory, proceed to Step 5.

Make sure that the power-on lamp and the monitor have gone out.
• Do not turn on the camera.

Open the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover
as shown in Step 3.1 on the previous page and slide
the memory card in until it clicks into place. The
camera and memory card may be damaged if the
memory card is inserted in the wrong way. After
inserting the memory card, close the battery-
chamber/memory card slot cover as shown in Step
3.3 on the previous page.
To remove memory cards,
turn the camera off and make sure that the power-on
lamp and the monitor have gone out.
Open the battery-chamber/memory card
slot cover and press the card in to partially eject the card. The card can then be
removed by hand.

Press the power switch to turn on the
camera. The power-on lamp (green)
will be lit for a moment and then the
monitor will turn on.

Auto Power Off in Shooting Mode (Standby Mode)
If no operations are performed for about five seconds in shooting mode, the monitor will dim
to save power. Using any of the camera controls will reactivate the display.
If no operations are performed for about a minute (default setting), the monitor will turn off
automatically and the camera will enter standby mode. If no operations are performed for
another three minutes, the camera will turn off automatically.
If the monitor is off in standby mode, press the power switch or the shutter-release button to
reactivate it.
