To cancel the Vocal function
Select [OFF] in step 3.
Note
• The Vocal function works only with the Dolby
Digital Karaoke format.
• If the guide vocal is not recorded on the disc, you
cannot use the Vocal function.
• When you turn the Vocal function on and off while
playing a Super VCD, the sound may cut off for a
moment.
• The Vocal function is canceled when:
– you turn off the power.
– you change the function.
– AUDIO stream is changed.
– you turn Karaoke Pon mode on.
– you cancel karaoke mode.
Selecting the vocals (Vocal
Select)
(DVD VIDEO, VIDEO CD, CD only)
After you set [VOCAL] to [ON], you can
change the guide vocal channel. You can select
different kinds of vocals when using the Vocal
function.

• [1]: Guide vocal 1
• [2]: Guide vocal 2
x When playing a VIDEO CD/CD
• [L+R]: Same sound is output from both
speakers.
• [STEREO]: The standard stereo sound
x When playing a Super VCD
• [1:L+R]

• [1:STEREO]: The stereo sound of the
audio track 1
• [2:L+R]
• [2:STEREO]: The stereo sound of the
audio track 2
Note
• When playing a DVD VIDEO, the function works
only with the Dolby Digital Karaoke format.
• Depending on the discs, you may not be able to
change the guide vocal channel.
• The channel returns to the default setting when:
– you turn off the power.
– you change the functions.
– AUDIO stream is changed.
– you cancel karaoke mode.
• When playing a DVD VIDEO recorded only with one
kind of guide vocal, select [1].
