Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)

(if equipped)
(Lock): Press this button when all
doors are closed to immediately lock all
the doors. The interior lamps will also
turn off. If enabled through the Driver
Information Center (DIC), the parking
lamps will flash once and/or the horn will
chirp to indicate locking has occurred.
If the Lock button is pressed while any
door is open and the Delayed Lock fea-
ture is enabled, the doors will not lock.
Instead, a chime will sound. Once all
doors are closed, the doors will lock. To
cancel this delay, press the Lock button
a second time within five seconds or
press the power door lock switch.
(Unlock): Press this button to unlock
the driver's door. If the button is pressed
again within five seconds, all remaining
doors will unlock. (This is the default
DIC setting for Vehicle Unlocking.) The
interior lamps will illuminate and remain
on for 20 seconds or until the ignition is
turned on. If enabled through the DIC,
the parking lamps will flash twice and
the horn will chirp twice to indicate
unlocking has occurred.
Note: To arm or disarm the content theft-
deterrent alarm system, use the RKE
transmitter. The alarm system will not be
armed or disarmed if the doors are locked
or unlocked with a key, the manual door
lock or the power door lock switch.
(Trunk Release): The trunk will
unlatch when this button on the transmit-
ter is pressed and held for approximate-
ly one second. You can open the trunk
with the transmitter when the vehicle is
stationary.
The trunk may also be opened using the
Trunk Release button located in the
storage bin on the left side of the instru-
ment panel.
(Vehicle Locator/Panic Alarm):
A new Vehicle Locator feature has been
added to your car's Remote Keyless
Entry. The vehicle must be turned off to
use this feature.
Press and hold the
approximately one second to locate your
vehicle. The horn will sound three times
and the parking lamps will flash three
times.
To sound the panic alarm, press and
hold the button for three seconds. The
horn will sound and the parking lamps
will flash for 30 seconds. Press the but-
ton again or turn the ignition key to any
position to cancel the panic alarm.
