XRN Quick Setup Guide 1. Product Overview 4. Network Setup Before adding IP cameras and connecting network cables to your XRN, you will firstly have to set an IP address on your XRN NVR. Once this is done, you have the option to either set IP addresses manually on your XC IP cameras or use the Auto IP option. This will be covered after the below section for finding and adding an IP address to your XRN. All of the XRN NVR’s and XC IP cameras will share the same default IP address (192.168.1.188). However, this means that there will be a conflict on your LAN if all equipment is connected at the same time, so you will need to change some of the IP addresses. Firstly, check what your PC and Routers IP address is, to do this please follow the guide 4.1. 4.1 Windows Follow the steps below find an available IP address on an XRN NVR or XC camera to the local network. On your Windows PC keyboard press the windows key and the letter R together. The run bar will appear, as shown in the image to the below. Type: CMD and press the enter key on the keyboard. The command prompt will appear as shown below. Type in ‘ipconfig’ and press the enter key on the keyboard. www.xvision.com...
  • Page 13 XRN Quick Setup Guide In the picture the below IPv4 also gives you an IP address of 192.168.1.150. This address is the IP address of the computer which is used in the example. Please make a note of what the default gateway and subnet mask is. In this example the default gateway is 192.168.1.1 and subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. In the command prompt type in ping and then an IP address within the range of you network (i.e.192.168.0.X or 192.168.1.X), then press enter. You can pick any number between 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.253. If the IP address is free, a message will display with Destination host unreachable from your IP address as shown in the picture below. If the IP address is in use there will be a reply from that IP address. The example below shows a reply if you was to ping command with the routers IP address. When the IP address is available you will need to navigate back to the XRN. Right click your mouse and select Network Setting. Now fill in the fields as follows; IP – 192.168.1.100 Subnet Mask – 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway – 192.168.1.1 This will be already set as shown in section 3 (Setup Wizard), so you will just need to connect your CAT5 Ethernet patch cable. Click the save button at the top of the window, and you should receive the message saying the saving was successful. www.xvision.com...

  • Page 17: Changing Sub Stream Resolution

XRN Quick Setup Guide 5.5 Changing Sub Stream Resolution If you have added your IP camera but are getting no live image or a frozen image you may need to change the Sub Stream resolution and the Stream type on the XRN. The below table will show you all the supported stream types on your XRN unit. 8x[1920*1080]+Sub stream [640*480] + 2Ref. + 1Play XRN0808E 8x[1280*720]+Sub stream [640*360] + 1Ref. + 4Play 16x[1280*960]+sub stream[640*480]+4Ref.+4Play XRN1609 9x[1920*1080]+sub stream[960*576]+4Ref.+1Play 20x[1280*960]+sub[640*480]+4Ref.+4Play 16x[1920*1080]+sub[640*480]+4Ref.+4Play XRN2016 8x[1920*1080]+8x[1280*960]+sub[640*480]+4Ref.+4Play 4x[2048*1536]+sub[960*576]+4Ref.+4Play 36x[1280*960]+sub[720*576]+4Ref.+8Play 25x[1920*1080]+sub[960*576]+4Ref.+4Play 16x[1920*1080]+16x[1280*960]+sub[960*576]+4Ref.+4Play XRN3625 8x[2048*1536]+sub[960*576]+4Ref.+8Play 4x[2592*1920]+sub[960*576]+4Ref.+4Play The values above signify the maximum amount of channels, the maximum supported Main Stream resolution, the maximum supported Sub Stream resolution and the maximum amount of channels that are shown in playback. So for example, the XRN0808E gives you two options of: 8 x [1920*1080] + Sub Stream [640*480] + 2Ref + 1Play 8 x [1280*720] + Sub stream [640*360] + 1Ref. + 4Play If you use the 1st one as an example this means that it will allow 8 channels at a maximum resolution of 1920*1080 with a maximum Sub Stream resolution of 640*480, it will also play back 1 channel at a time when viewing recorded footage. 8 x 1920*1080 + Sub Stream(640*480) + 2Ref + 1Play 1. Channels 2. Maximum Main Stream Resolution...
  • Page 18 You may have a resolution lower than what is stated but if these resolutions are exceeded then you will not not receive an image or they will freeze up. The XRN1609 will give the following options: 16 x [1280*960] + Sub Stream [640*480] + 4Ref + 4Play 9 x [1920*1080] + Sub Stream [960*576] + 4Ref + 1Play This means that one option will give 16 channels at a maximum Main Stream resolution of 1280*960 or 9 channels with a slightly higher resolution of 1920*1080. Some of the other unit will give you further options, for example: 8 x [1920*1080] + 8 x [1280*960] +Sub Stream [640*480] + 4Ref + 4Play This means that it will allow a total of 16 channels, however, the first 8 channels will have a maximum Main Stream resolution of 1920*1080 and the last 8 channels have a maximum Main Stream resolution of 1280*960. The image above has a table explaining a breakdown of all supported resolutions and maximum amount of cameras that support those resolutions. Amount of Live image at Live image at 1280x960 Live image at 640x480 Simultaneous Playback Cameras 1920x1080 resolution resolution resolution Up to 4 Cameras All 4 Cameras All 4 Cameras All 4 Cameras Up to 4 Cameras All 8 Cameras All 8 Cameras All 8 Cameras Up to 4 Cameras 8 Cameras 8 Cameras All 16 Cameras Up to 4 Cameras To configure the above settings, please follow the steps below: On the main screen, right click and choose the ‘Setting’ option. • Page 19 XRN Quick Setup Guide On the ‘Device Info’ page at the bottom you will find Stream Type, select the drop down list and pick the required Stream. When you have selected the stream type, the XRN unit will reboot. When rebooted, navigate to the main menu and go the ‘Setting-Channel-Video Parameters’. Then, you can change your main stream and sub stream to match the new stream settings. Under video parameters, change between main stream and sub stream settings for each channel. The XRN1609, XRN2016 and XRN3625, when in 1 or 4 screens use the main stream to display. If the display is set to 9/16/25/36 screens, the sub stream is used. For the XRN0808E, in single view the main stream is used and when display is set to 4/9 split view, the sub stream is used. The recommended Bit rate for main stream is the following: For 720P IP camera: 3072Kbps For 1080P IP camera: 4096Kbps For example, if the XRN2016 is in the mode of 16x [1920*1080] +sub [640*480] +4Ref. +4Play, it supports a sub stream of 640x480 maximum, so the correct resolution of the sub stream you have to setup is 640x480 (VGA), or Q720P/QVGA/CIF. If the resolution is set to higher, there will be no image displayed through HDMI and VGA output when the XRN displays in multi-screens (9/16/25/36 screens). The recommended bit rate under Sub stream is 512Kbps or less. The example below shows live image support for XRN2016. www.xvision.com...
