Check this list before calling for service
Problem
MISCELLANEOUS PROBLEMS
No power.

Cannot turn on the VCR.
Cassette cannot be ejected.

Cassette is automatically ejected when

REMOTE CONTROL PROBLEM
*The VCR cannot be operated by the
remote control.
This unit is equipped with a microprocessor. Its performance could be adversely affected by external electrical noise or
interference. If this should happen, unplug the VCR and plug it in again after a few hours.
Possible Cause/Solutions
See page 5, item 3.

Make sure the power cord is plugged in
l
Check the outlet, fuse or circuit breaker.
l
Press TIMER ON/OFF and disengage the timer.
l
Make sure that the Child-Proof Lock is not engaged.
l
Safety device in VCR is functioning.
l
Unplug the VCR and plug it in again after a few hours, and then set the clock
again. Set the timer again if necessary.
*Cassette's erasure protection tab has been removed. Use a different
cassette or place adhesive tape over the tab opening.
Check if a cassette is loaded.

Make sure VCR is not in pause/still mode.

The heads may be dirty from condensed moisture or the magnetic coating of

retailer or Sharp approved service centre.)
Check all connecting cables.

The remote control unit is too far away from the main unit
l
The remote control unit is not pointed correctly at the photoreceptor window.

The batteries are exhausted.
l
The batteries have not been inserted in the correct direction (+/- polarity).
