E. SLOWING DOWN USING YOUR WALKER'S BRAKES
1. Using your walker's brakes to slow down:
To slow down the walker while you are walking,
simply squeeze on the handbrakes.
RISK OF INJURY– Do not use your rolling walker
when on hills. A wheeled walker may not provide
adequate support while on slopes.
RISK OF INJURY– Do not use your walker as a
wheelchair; doing so may cause a tip-over,
resulting in injury.
2. Adjusting the slow-down brake on Pro 402 model:
Your Pro 402 model walker has the added feature of a
slow-down brake. The slow-down brake was designed
to regulate the walker's speed. It also helps compen-
sate for an irregular gait.
a. To control your walker's speed:
Turn the tension adjustment knob clockwise on
both sides of the walker. This will make your
walker go slower when you use it and prevent an
unattended walker from rolling away.
Turn the tension adjustment knob counterclock-
wise to allow your walker to roll more freely
when you use it.
b. To compensate for an irregular gait:
Turn the tension adjustment knob clockwise on
the side of the walker you want to slow down.
Continue to turn the tension adjustment knob
clockwise until your walker rolls straight when
in use.

F. MAINTAINING YOUR WALKER'S BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
The wheel brakes have been adjusted. However, as the
walker is used, the tire tread may slowly wear, making
occasional readjustment of the brakes necessary. Use
the following procedures when making this adjustment.
1. Unlock the walker's brakes – See section "D.
LOCKING AND UNLOCKING YOUR WALKER'S
BRAKES" for instructions.
For Pro 402 models only–
Turn the tension adjustment knob counterclock-
wise on both sides of the walker until the rear
wheels spin freely.
2. Loosen jamb nut on right brake handle using
5/16" wrench.
3. Turn the knurled adjustment screw counterclockwise
until the right rear wheel no longer spins freely.
4. Turn the knurled adjustment screw clockwise one
full revolution or until the rear wheel spins freely.
5. Secure your adjustment by holding the knurled
adjustment screw and tightening the jamb nut
against the lever body using a 5/16" wrench.
6. Repeat items 2-5 above for the left side of
the walker.
G. CLEANING YOUR WALKER
The plastic seat and handgrips on the walker may be
cleaned with soap and water or mild liquid cleaners.
Avoid the use of harsh cleaning solvents, such as ace-
tone, which may attack the plastic.
