9. TROUbLESHOOTING

PRObLEM
Engine will not start
Engine is overloaded
Engine running but pump not
building maximum pressure or has
irregular pressure
No intake of chemicals
Trigger will not move
Water in crankcase
Noisy operation
Rough/pulsating operation with
pressure drop
High crankcase temperature

POSSIbLE CAUSES
Low oil sensor has shut down engine
Engine switch not in the ON position
Pressure build-up in pump
Nozzle partially blocked
Excessive pressure build-up
Mains water turned off
Unit has been stored in freezing temperatures
Inadequate water supply
Water inlet filter clogged
Kink in water supply hose
Wand nozzle worn or damaged
Air in pump
Suction or discharge valve clogged or worn out
Bypass valve not operating effectively
Injection tube not properly attached to unit
Tube cracked or split
Nozzle set to high pressure
Siphon nozzle blocked
Trigger lock engaged
High humidity
Worn seals
Worn bearings
Air mixed with water
Inlet restriction
Air mixed with water
Wrong grade of oil
Oil level too high / low

REMEDY
Top up oil to correct level
Turn switch ON
Operate trigger
Clean nozzle
Return to dealer to have reflux valve adjusted
Turn on mains water
Thaw out completely including hose, gun and wand
MInimum required is 10ltr/min at 20psi
Clean filter
Straighten hose
Replace nozzle
Run unit with gun open and wand removed until
air is purged
Clean suction or discharge valves
Clean bypass valve
Push tube firmly onto siphon nozzle
Replace tubing
Move nozzle to low pressure position
Clean nozzle
Release trigger lock
Change oil more frequently
Return to Sealey dealer for seal replacement
Return to Sealey dealer for bearing replacement
Check inlet line for correct size or restriction
Check for incorrectly sized plumbing, air leaks, or
blockages
Check inlet line for correct size or restriction
Use recommended oil
Adjust oil level to recommended
