It has been design certified for
these installations. Exception:
DO NOT install this appliance in
a factory built fireplace that
includes instructions stating it
has not been tested or should
not be used with unvented gas
logs.

allow operation of this appliance
in a vented configuration. Check
your state or local codes.

This is an unvented gas-fired heater. It
uses air (oxygen) from the room in
which it is installed. Provisions for
adequate combustion and ventilation
air must be provided. (See page 3 for
additional information).
This unit tested to the Unvented Room Heater
Standard ANS Z21.11.2a-2008
This appliance operates as an unvented domestic room
heater when fitted to a masonry or factory built fireplace with
the flue damper closed or as a decorative appliance when the
flue damper is fully open. It must not be used for any other
purpose and must be fitted in a masonry or factory built
fireplace. If certain requirements are met, then this product
also qualifies under ANS Z21.60b-2004 CGA2.26b-2004

    Flame Check A periodic visual check of the flames should be made. The pilot flame should always be present when the appliance is in operation. See figures D and E. In normal operation (at a full rate for approximately 15 minutes), the following flame appearances should be observed: Rear flames: The flames at the rear or at either side of the top log should be very similar, yellow in color, and should extend about three...

    Other Important Items: 1. Operator should not adjust the flame by the control knob. (See Important Information and Lighting Instructions.) 2. Extended use may cause air hole on left rear burner tube to clog up. This will make the flames appear taller which could cause a carbon or sooting problem.

    Location Centrally locate the unit in the fireplace and deep enough into the firepit to accomplish adequate draft. Ensure that the grate front feet sit inside the front edge of the fireplace. Fireplace screen The fireplace screen must be in place when the appliance is operating, and unless other provisions for combustion air are made, the screen must have an opening(s) for the introduction of combustion air.

    Two Year Limited Warranty This warranty is limited to fireplaces manufactured and assembled by Appalachian Stove and Fabricators, henceforth “Appalachian.” Warranty Coverage If any component of a fireplace covered under this warranty is returned to Appalachian and found to be defective within two years from the date of purchase, Appalachian will, at its option, repair or replace the defective component at no charge.
