Connecting Audio Devices

For higher audio quality, you can send or receive sound through external
audio devices.
NOTE: After connecting an external audio device, make sure that you specify the use of
the correct audio device in Windows XP.
Audio Output Connector (
connector of powered speakers with built-in amplifiers, headphones,
or earphone set. This connector is compliant to S/PDIF (Sony/Philips
Digital InterFace). You can connect audio equipment with S/PDIF to
the computer. S/PDIF is a new audio transfer file format that ensures
a high quality digital audio output through optical fibers.
Audio Input Connector (
radio set, synthesizer, walkman, etc for audio input.
Microphone Connector (
microphone for recording voice or sound.
NOTES:
When using external speakers/headphones or microphone, you cannot use the
internal one.
The S/PDIF connector is classified as a Class 1 laser product.
