MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES Always check the efficiency and integrity of the machine. Before connecting the machine to the mains, make sure that the rotating parts are not damaged or badly worn. Make sure that the switch is in the neutral position. Do not start the machine in an enclosed or poorly ventilated area, or in the presence of a flammable and/or explosive atmosphere.
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES 23. It is recommended that users of this publication, for maintenance and repair, have a basic knowledge of mechanical principles and of repair technique procedures. 24. The person responsible for company safety is to make sure that the staff responsible for using the machine have read and understood this manual in its entirety.
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES 2.3 Technical support For any problems or concerns, please contact, without hesitation, the dealer from whom you purchased the machine, who has competent and specialised staff, specific equipment and spare parts. 2.4 Other provisions T IS FORBIDDEN TO TAMPER WITH SAFETY DEVICES The first thing to do when starting work is to check the presence and integrity of the protections and the operation of the safety devices.
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES 4 INTENDED USE OF THE MACHINE The Drilling machine is a machine-tool designed for executing simple operations, such as: drilling (max drilling capacity: 35 mm); threading; boring and spot-facing. The machine is made to perform such machining of different materials, changing the tool depending on the operation to be performed and the material of the work-piece.

MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES PINDLE SPEED PLATES The plate indicating of the speed of rotation of the spindle corresponding to different gearbox configurations is on the front part of the head. Figure 3 - Spindle speed labels. Minimum speed: 75 rev/min - Lever configuration: I-L1. Maximum speed: 3200 rev/min - Lever configuration: II-H3.

Page 19
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES Changing the direction of rotation Always wait for the spindle to come to a complete stop before starting the rotation in the opposite direction to the one you are using. 6. STOP BUTTON Press this button to stop the rotation of the spindle. 7.
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES 6.2 Levers and handwheels To set the speed of rotation of the spindle, turn off the machine and choose the switch position I or II (ref. 2 in Figure 5) bring the levers (ref. 9 and 10 in Figure 6), to the required position, following the directions given in the speed table and in relation to the machining to be followed.
Page 21
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES Reversing rotation Reversing rotation can take place by means of the micro switch located next to the spindle or by means of the button on the control panel. In any event, only reverse rotation at low speed MAX 150 rpm (levers in position L1).
Page 22
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES The opening / closing of the vice takes place using the lever at the end of the movable part. Figure 11 - Vice lever. This handle allows the height adjustment of the table, after reaching the desired height, it is possible to lock the table using the lever located at the rear right section.
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES 7 MACHINE SAFETY DEVICES Accident UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD PROTECTION AND SAFETY DEVICES BE MODIFIED OR REMOVED! 7.1 Spindle guard A plexiglass guard protects the operator against contact with the rotating tool or against parts ejected during the machining process (Figure 13).
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES 7.3 Emergency stop The emergency stop is constituted by a cap red which, if pressed, activates the stop button thus interrupting the power supply of the machine. Figure 15 - Emergency button. Upon pressing the emergency stop button, the spindle will keep rotating by inertia for a few seconds before stopping completely.
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES In the event of drill malfunction or failure, the machines are equipped with an electric cable with conductor grounding to protect the operator from electrocution (electric shock), providing a path of least resistance for electric current thus reducing the danger of electrocution.
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES 8 TRANSPORT AND LIFTING Use suitable lifting equipment to move the Drill. Please remember that the machine weighs about 400 kg, so please use lifting equipment with a higher maximum load capacity. Lifting cranes, cranes and hoists with sufficient load capacity may be considered appropriate. Means of transport For choosing an adequate lifting equipment, you should take into account the weight of the machine and of its packaging (if any).
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES 9 MACHINE ASSEMBLY To assemble the Geared Drilling Machine, follow these steps: Staff Required The assembly must be carried out by at least two people. Clean the Machine Before starting assembly, clean the protective product from the machine's components. Risk of Crushing Mount the Drilling machine on a solid strong support surface.
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES 9.1 Mounting the spindle cone and the spindle Proceed as follows to assemble the spindle cone and the spindle: 1. With a dry cloth, clean the internal surface of the coupling of the spindle cone. Similarly, clean also the spindle and the spindle cone. 2.
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES 10 OPERATION The Drilling machineErrore. Nome della proprietà del documento sconosciuto. is a very easy machine to use. It is able to perform the drilling and tapping of metals and similar materials, other materials can be processed, using a suitable tool. Using the machine The Geared drilling machine should only be used with appropriate tools for the processing to be performed: metal, wood or plastic require different tools, if you are not sure about the...
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES 10.2Drilling in manual mode Unscrew the knob to loosen the worm screw cone and the spring base. Then set the stroke of the spindle by setting the positive depth of the blind holes (depth gauge) or through holes. 1.
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES 10.3Tapping Use a suitable tool for tapping, then: 1. Move the switch (ref. 2 Figure 5) to the T position. APPING 2. Check the position of the pads on the handwheel. 3. Turn the handwheel to lower the spindle in order to start its rotation (RIGHT) and move the tool to the established height following the lowering speed set by the tool.
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES If necessary it is possible to turn on the lamp located behind the spindle using the switch on the front of the head. Figure 21 – Lighting. 10.5Cooling system On the control panel there is a switch that allows the cooling system pump to be started. Before starting the pump, make sure that the coolant level is adequate and that the collection tank is clean from chips and debris.
MACHINES AND ACCESSORIES 11 MAINTENANCE 11.1Routine maintenance Remove dust accumulated inside the motor and machining residues on the work surface using compressed air. Working with compressed air Always use protective goggles when undertaking work with compressed air and do not exceed the pressure of 2 bar.
