Frequently asked questions — Battery
Why is my battery running down quickly?
There are several reasons why your battery may run down quickly.
Following these suggestions will help extend battery life:
Use vibrate notification because it requires less power than tone
notification. See the online "Handheld User's Guide" for
detailed information on the notification options.
Limit sending long messages.
Limit use of the backlighting feature.
Set filter rules in the desktop software's Redirector Settings
window to specify which messages should be forwarded to
your handheld. See the "Redirector Settings online help" for
detailed information.
If you are sending the same message to more than one person,
use multiple recipients in one message rather than transmitting
the same message more than once. See the online "Handheld
User's Guide" for information on composing a message to
multiple recipients.
Turn off your handheld's radio when you are not reading mail
or when receiving your mail is not urgent.
Installation and Getting Started Guide
Recharge the handheld's battery. See page 25 for
information on using and charging the battery. The
handheld can be kept at a full charge by simply
"topping up" the battery every day for 10-15 minutes.
From an empty battery, a full charge can be achieved
in approximately 3 hours. It is not necessary to
completely drain the battery before recharging.
