Service Diagnosis

Symptom
No ice is dispensed - Basic Model
No ice is dispensed - Coin Op Model Same as above plus coin switch does
Only dispenses small amount of ice
No water is dispensed - water station
model
Water leak
Water drip from spout
Coin operated model "Ready" light is
on all the time
Probable Cause
No power to dispenser
No ice
Vend switch does not close
Chute cannot be pushed back
Interlock switch open
Drive motor windings open
Drive gears failed
not close
Vend timer does not work
Sweep arm damaged
Water shut off
Drain is plugged
Ice catch pan has overfilled
Ice catch pan screen is plugged
Seal between ice machine and
dispenser is leaking
Some dripping is normal, but if
severe
Resistor is open

Possible Fix
Check for proper power, is dispenser
plugged in?
Check ice machine
Check vend switch
Check chute for proper motion
Check door lock for proper operation
Check interlock switch, be sure top
panel is in place
Check drive motor
Check gear reducer
Check coin switch
Connect power to post 6 of coin
mech timer, timer should activate,
ready light should be on and pushing
the chute should start the gear motor,
if not replace the vend timer
Check/replace sweep arm
Check water supply to unit, check
shut off valve inside cabinet
Check drain for restriction
Remove excess ice
Clean screen
Remove ice machine and replace
gasket tape
Check spout drain for restriction
Replace resistors (15K, 2 watt in
parallel)
