    Introduction The information in this manual provides installation and maintenance procedures for the V894CSH Corner- Mounted and V894WSH Wall-Mounted Series of High-Security Camera/Housings. These units should only be installed by a qualified technician using approved materials in conformance with federal, state, and local codes.

    Installation Unpacking and Inspection All Vicon equipment is inspected and tested before leaving the factory. It is the carrier’s responsibility to deliver the equipment in the same condition in which it left the factory. Inspection for Visible Damage Immediately inspect the cartons upon delivery. On all copies of the carrier’s freight bill, make a note of any visible damage.

    A UL listed Class 2 direct plug-in transformer with 24 VAC 200 mA output is required for powering the V894CSH and V894WSH cameras. Power Supplies Vicon recommends several power supplies, depending on the needs of the installation. Refer to the table below.     Camera Synchronization If there is more than one unit in a system, the cameras have to be synchronized to ensure there is no roll of video. If the camera will be used in a line lock video application, the camera interface board is already set in line lock mode by default.

    Camera/Lens Adjustments After all cabling is complete, the camera and lens can be adjusted. DIP Switch Settings Refer to Figures 2 and 3 when making DIP switch settings. (Note that the location of this DIP Switch is model dependent. Be sure to refer to the correct DIP switch, A or B, when setting.) The ELC/ALC mode switch is used to select Electronic Light Compensation or Automatic Light Compensation.

    Camera/Lens Positioning The camera position can be adjusted in three axes, vertically (tilt), vertical height of the camera/lens assembly and rotation about the lens axis (roll). Swivel the assembly for tilt position. The vertical height of the camera/lens assembly can be adjusted by loosening the lock nut, changing the vertical position of the camera mounting bracket within the slot in the mounting bracket and retightening the nut.

    Coaxial Cable Recommendations Caution: Careful selection of proper cable is essential to obtain the best performance from this equipment. Vicon assumes no responsibility for poor performance when cables other than those recommended, or equivalent, are installed. In all cases, coaxial cable impedance should be 75 ohms.
